Garin Booth Once Owned a Business Listing Service

I first became a business minded entrepreneur in 2006 when a buddy of mine told me about his business and how his mom was the Accountant for it.

That was the day I became very interested in business and finding out more about what an Accountant was. My interest expanded from researching on the internet, to reading Accounting books and eventually going to College.

Fast forward to 2012, I decided to start an Online Business Listing Service called "Scwam" (scwam.com), which was a service that allowed business owners to post their company information on my website as a way to gain backlinks to their website and help drive new users to their company.

The second layer to my business model was a unique referral program that allowed these business owners to refer other companies to the listing service and receive a Residual Referral bonus.

What made this referral bonus unique was that for every company you referred, you would receive a Residual Payout. Meaning you would be paid a certain amount for each referral, every month, as long as the company you referred remained a member.

Unfortunately, the business did not take off the way it should have. Not many business owners were interested in getting listed, or earning a residual income. Which caused me to close the business.

This was a great learning opportunity for me and allowed me to experience first hand what it's like to run a business.
